The Lawfirm of Marc J. Victor, P.C. was well established in the Chandler, AZ area for over 15 years before PIQTU got called in to establish a new presence on the web. Priding themselves on being a down-to-earth firm, Marc's vision was to create a series of information videos for they layperson to understand the basics of law and how to best protect themselves. The videos have been a huge success with each being viewed tens of thousands of times and have already ordered more videos for slated for production.

Netwürk is a streaming media company located in Nashville, TN, formed to meet the growing demand for audio and video delivery via the internet. They have worked extensively in the music industry for some of the largest record companies, and the most successful artists in the business. Clean and crisp was the order of the day for this website, as we drew inspiration from the negative space in the logo that PIQTU also designed. We employed a broad spectrum of complimentary color palettes to communicate the energy of this new, vibrant company.

Formerly known as The Taylor Hicks Band, The Little Memphis Blues Orchestra (or LiMBO, as their fans affectionately call them) was formed when leader, Taylor Hicks, temporarily left and went on to win American Idol in 2006. PIQTU was hired to film and mulitrack the special homecoming concert that reunited Hicks and his band in Birmingham, AL, in August of 2006. "Live at the Workplay Theatre," which I directed, edited, and produced, was released as a live double audio CD and video DVD. LiMBO continues to play sold-out shows across the country with Hicks occasionally sitting in.

Ripe Radio was a start-up company looking for investors to bring a new form of streaming internet radio before the dot.com boom/bust of the late 1990's. PIQTU was hired to create a logo that emphasized the two words and had a contemporary feel. The final logo was chosen out of several – the logo needed to encompass fruit of sorts and imagery similar in feel to that of a loud speaker. The client was thrilled with this concept but unfortunately the company never made it off the ground.

Danielle Peck is a songwriter in Nashville trying to make it as a country artist. With such strong endorsements from Nashville movers and shakers Scott Borchetta, Barbara Orbison & James Stroud, she may still become the star she has always dreamed of. Under previous employment, I shot and edited Danielle's video that was shown to an assortment of Nashville record executives. Look for Danielle to make it big.

Greyhounds is a blues-groove band based out of Austin, TX, that tour relentlessly around the country. Upon hearing them for the first time, PIQTU fell in love with their funky, gritty, blues-y sound. Our first major documentary project was this twenty-eight minute film covering a segment of the Greyhounds' career: a moment in time when the band had added two new members, bringing the total up to four. Having been a three-piece up until that point, it was an exciting new time, full of creativity and improvisation. Armed with only two cameras, a multitrack recording rig, and a dog, We packed up the truck and traveled the south-eastern U.S. following them in the spring of 2006. Although this was a non-paying gig, it was certainly a highlight in our career.

Former member of the British group, The Babys, John Waite launched his solo career and had international success with his pop hit, "Missing You," which climbed to #1 on the American pop charts in 1984. In 1989, Waite enjoyed success with the #1 pop hit, "When I See You Smile," while playing bass and singing lead vocals for the group, Bad English. Launching his album, "The Hard Way," in 2005, a music video was needed to help promote the album. PIQTU served as Director of Photography and Editor for "The Hard Way" music video, and a short documentary piece.

An independent label based in San Francisco, CA, Fog City Records held its 10th Anniversary party at the historic Preservation Hall in New Orleans, LA, during Jazzfest 2006, and invited PIQTU to film and multi-track the event. JJ Grey (Mofro), Robert Walter (Greyboy Allstars, Robert Walter's 20th Congress), Papa Mali, and George Sluppick (Albert King, Mofro) joined to played two hour-long sets where each took turns featuring their own music. The concert was an intimate event with less than 100 people in attendance at each show. Fans still say it was a show they'll never forget. Here is a clip from that special night featuring Papa Mali, edited and mixed by Fog City's own, Dan Prothero.

2 Eds Design is the portfolio site of copywriter/artist Edward Barlow from Murfreesboro, TN. The site was designed around the concept, "where are you when your best ideas occur?" PIQTU explored many avenues before selecting six locations where ideas may occur: the toilet, the car, the bar, the shower, the bed, and finally, exercising. Utilizing our photography, photo editing skills, and knowledge of Flash, PIQTU showcased Ed's copywriting and artwork in this website, with a humorous twist. Ed has never been busier, as the site has landed him many lucrative jobs.

Priding themselves on being a down-to-earth firm, achievements from Marc's past were called in to use as design elements in a custom Flash movie that utilizes strong imagery alongside fluid-smooth text animations and a custom animation of Marc's signature. Wanting to stray from the traditional color pallets of most corporate websites, a monochromatic scheme was established accented by the company's trademark blue. PIQTU even coined the catch phrase proudly displayed on the home page; '"Committed to Excellence" is not just a slogan. It's our Philosophy.' The website has been well received and business for the growing firm has never been better.

The Belly Dancer Project is the dissertation of Ramsi K. Watkins, Ph.D. of Arizona State University. The Project focused on the identities of four different belly dancers from various locations in Arizona and how belly dance had shaped and sculpted these identities.  The logo was inspired by a linoleum print created by Ramsi's sister and instantly became a recognizable symbol of the project deployed across print media, a website and a documentary film.

To help curb the coldness of the common hosting companies usually drab corporate identities, I decided to design around the well known smiley face now used in many forms of internet communication. The resulting logo was hugely successful as it became a highly recognized symbol for streaming media in the Nashville music business community.

Hal Bynum is an aging songwriter residing in Nashville, TN, who has penned country hits for artists such as Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Kenny Rogers and many more. Having recently finished a contract with Warner Bros. Records, Hal wanted to start producing and selling his own spoken word albums on the internet. PIQTU created this website using whimsical elements, elegant typography with soft serif fonts, and an earthy color pallete (drawing from the art we designed for his book and albums). Hal was thrilled with OUR work, and showed it by awarding PIQTU with other projects. 

For Wynonna's single, "Flies on the Butter," Curb Records requested a promotional tool to help boost record sales and nominate Wynonna for the Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards. With a wink and a nod, 22 video tapes were dumped in my lap, encompassing Wynonna's 20-year career. The challenge was to edit-down hours of footage into a video that recalled past achievements and accolades, while not focusing too heavily on The Judds. Wynonna's management absolutely adored this piece, noting that it was a perfect blend of the past, present, and future of Wynonna's career.

For this CMA Award eCard, PIQTU chose a beer theme to remind CMA members to nominate Toby Keith's, "Beer For My Horses" for a number of awards. I worked with collegues for half a day, filling a 4-foot beer stein to the top while filming it! This memorable eCard still wows and awes viewers with some finding it hard to believe that it's not a computer generated effect. With the help of this Flash piece, Toby and Willie Nelson's duet was nominated for Vocal Event of the Year, Song of the Year, Music Video of the Year, Single of the Year, and Album of the Year, for Unleashed.

Another CMA Flash piece, this Rascal Flatts eCard urged CMA members to nominate them for Vocal Group of the Year. A Little Rascals theme was chosen for the campaign. The eCard was a huge success, helping Rascal Flatts win Vocal Group of the Year for the fourth year in a row.

Every year the Country Music Association (CMA) Awards roll around and the Nashvile record labels spend mountains of cash in an attempt to get their artists nominated. Ballots and eCards are sent out to all CMA members in hopes of influencing the nomination and final voting process. The simple math is that a CMA Award equals more album sales. Under previous employment, PIQTU developed this unique flash piece for country music superstar duo Montgomery Gentry.

IV Music Group is a company with offices in the US and Europe, that specializes in audio production for clients such as NIKE, Compaq and Yamaha. This custom Flash piece was designed as a Christmas 'mailer' to send out to friends, family and clients.
